The 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign brought in more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight on Sept. 17. The 18th annual event was organized by Communities Foundation of Texas. Dallas is about 33 miles southwest of Princeton.
More than 3,300 nonprofits received donations across 25 cause areas, such as education, health, social services, arts, environmental work and animal welfare. The preliminary 2026 amount was above the $74.2 million raised from 94,000 donors at the same point in 2025. That earlier campaign ultimately totaled $78 million after gifts were processed through Sept. 30.
Donors have contributed $788 million to North Texas nonprofits since the event started in 2009. Dallas issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, North Texas Giving Day. Presenting sponsor Amazon also donated to 15 participating nonprofits.
Communities Foundation of Texas and event sponsors covered transaction and technology fees on gifts made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, so each tax-deductible contribution made there went in full to its selected nonprofit. The platform operates year-round for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group gifts and nonprofit-led fundraising. The next event is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2027.
