DJ Lagway will not play when Baylor faces Louisiana Tech, while his availability for the team’s next game against Colorado remains unsettled. The Big 12 opener is scheduled for Sept. 26 and will feature the Colorado Buffaloes, coached by Deion Sanders.

Lagway injured his ankle during Baylor’s 17-16 season-opening loss to Auburn. Sources told On3 Sports that the junior quarterback sustained a high-ankle sprain. Coach Dave Aranda had characterized Lagway’s condition as day-to-day earlier in the week. Lagway then missed Baylor’s 44-3 win over Prairie View.

Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that Lagway is progressing toward a return for the Colorado matchup, but the report did not establish that he will play. Baylor is scheduled to meet Louisiana Tech before beginning conference play. ClutchPoints reported that the timing of Lagway’s comeback remains unclear beyond the indication that he is moving toward the Colorado game.
