McKinney is preparing to host its annual Red, White and Boom celebration on July 4. The city has released a schedule for the day’s activities, which include a parade, a block party, and an evening concert featuring live music and a drone and fireworks display.

The day begins with a parade in downtown McKinney starting at 10 a.m. Floats are expected to travel north on Tennessee Street and south on Kentucky Street. Following the parade, the East Louisiana Block Party will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. These morning events are free and located in the downtown area.

McKinney is situated approximately 7 miles west of Princeton. For those attending the downtown events, a map of the parade route, block party location, and available parking lots can be found on the city’s website.

Festivities move to Towne Lake Park, located at 14015 Wilson Creek Parkway, starting at 6 p.m. The evening program includes live music performances. The drone and fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:40 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from the Grady Littlejohn Softball Fields.

The city has identified several parking options for the evening event. Attendees may park at the First McKinney Baptist Church at 1615 W. Louisiana St. or the Al Ruschhaupt Soccer Complex at 1986 Park View Ave. and take a shuttle to Towne Lake Park. Others can park at the McKinney Senior Recreation Center at 1400 S. College St. or the Collin Central Appraisal District at 250 Eldorado Parkway and walk to the venue.

Parking will not be available at McKinney High School. The city notes that lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers containing food, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages are permitted at the event. Further details and a map of the 2026 celebration locations are available via Google My Maps.
