The Farmersville Fire Department is preparing to host its first-ever Summer Fun Day on Tuesday, July 14. The free community event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the department’s facility. Farmersville is located approximately 8 miles east of Princeton.
The gathering aims to provide children with a hands-on introduction to firefighting operations while promoting fire safety awareness. Attendees will be able to tour the department’s fire trucks, interact with local firefighters, and participate in games and snack stations throughout the morning. The department has stated that families of all ages are welcome to attend.
Penny Phillips, who serves as the department’s Community Outreach and Risk Reduction Specialist, as well as a Firefighter, EMT, Inspector, and Fire Investigator, explained that the event was designed to build stronger ties between the department and residents. She noted that the initiative offers local families a positive summer activity.
Phillips described the occasion as a unique opportunity for public engagement. She stated that the goal is to give children an educational and entertaining experience during the summer months. The department hopes this inaugural event will lead to future programming if attendance is strong.
