Princeton, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9736 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 21, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9777 yesterday. That is up from $3.8708 a week ago but higher than $3.6528 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9495, while the national average is $4.4786. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 32 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7920, drivers are paying about 118 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.9639 per gallon, AAA reported.
