Canzone Powers Seattle Rally
Dominic Canzone provided the offensive spark Seattle needed, hitting two home runs to help the Mariners secure a 6-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. The win improved Seattle’s record to 52-54, while the Rangers fell to 53-52 in the series finale at Globe Life Field.
Canzone’s impact was most decisive in the seventh inning. With the game tied 4-3, he launched a 400-foot home run to right field, driving in two runs to give Seattle a 7-3 lead. He added another solo shot in the eighth inning, a 420-foot blast to left field, extending the margin.
His second home run of the day came in the ninth inning when he doubled to right field, scoring Evan Carter to make the final score 6-4.
Rangers Take Early Lead
The Rangers started strong, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Adolis Duran hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Evan Carter to score. Texas tied the game 1-1 in the third inning when Nathaniel Lowe singled to left, scoring Corey Seager.
Seattle took the lead in the fourth inning. Marcus Seager singled to right, scoring Josh Smith, and later, with runners on base, Seager’s single allowed Smith to score again. The Mariners added another run when Josh Smith reached on an infield single, scoring another runner to make it 4-1. However, the Rangers rallied to tie the game at 4-4 before Canzone’s heroics.
