Adell and Trout Dominate Offense

Taylor Adell and Mike Trout provided the offensive spark as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 13-1 on Thursday at Globe Life Field. Adell recorded two home runs, including a three-run blast in the fifth inning, while Trout added a two-run homer in the eighth. The Angels’ bats were active throughout the game, leveraging a steady stream of hits to overwhelm the Rangers’ pitching staff.

Early Runs Set the Tone

Los Angeles struck first in the top of the first inning. Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to score for a 1-0 lead. The Angels extended their advantage in the fourth inning when Adell homered to right field, measuring 359 feet. Grissom scored on the play, pushing the score to 3-0.

The offensive explosion continued in the fifth inning. Grissom singled to left again, bringing Neto home for a 4-0 lead with Trout moving to third. Shortly after, Adell launched a 433-foot home run to center field, driving in Trout and Grissom to make it 7-0. In the sixth, Grissom doubled to right, scoring Lowe and Neto to increase the margin to 9-0.

Rangers’ Late Effort Falls Short

The Rangers managed to put runs on the board in the eighth inning. Higashioka homered to left center, 389 feet, to make it 11-1. However, the Angels responded immediately as Trout homered to left center, 433 feet, with Lowe scoring to extend the lead to 13-1.

In the ninth inning, Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Adell, and Siri singled to left, allowing Guzman to score, though the final tally remained unchanged at 13-1.

Pitching Performance and Final Notes

Walbert Urena started for the Angels, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing one hit and no earned runs. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out five batters. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris each pitched one inning, with Fermin allowing one earned run.

For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore took the loss after five innings, giving up nine hits and seven earned runs while striking out seven. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Kyle Higashioka also pitched for Texas, combining to allow six more earned runs. Higashioka also contributed offensively with his home run.

The Angels improved to 37-56, while the Rangers fell to 46-46. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 at Globe Life Field.
