Rangers blank Giants 6-0 as Nimmo helps fuel Texas offense

Texas builds a third-inning cushion

The Texas Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-0 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with Nimmo driving in two runs and scoring twice. Texas moved ahead in the third inning and kept San Francisco off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

Langford scored the first run on Nimmo’s single to right, giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger for a 3-0 Texas advantage. Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and stretching the lead to 4-0.

Nimmo adds the only homer

The Rangers added another run in the fifth inning when Nimmo homered to left, a 350-foot shot that made it 5-0. It was the only home run of the game.

Texas closed the scoring in the eighth inning. Lopez singled to center, Burger scored and Pederson moved to second, pushing the Rangers’ lead to 6-0.

Texas pitching finishes the shutout

Cody Bradford worked 4 1/3 scoreless innings for Texas, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five. Tyler Alexander earned the win, moving to 2-2, after pitching 1 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings with no walks and three strikeouts.

Robby Ahlstrom pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out one. Chase Silseth also threw one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Cole Winn added one scoreless inning, giving up one hit with no walks and no strikeouts.

Giants pitchers and records

Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

Carson Seymour allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. Jason Foley pitched one scoreless inning with no hits, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk with one strikeout in one inning.

Attendance was 26,098. The Rangers’ record after the game was 57-58, and the Giants’ record was 48-67.
