Nimmo’s four hits power Rangers past A’s 8-5

Nimmo drives offense

Brandon Nimmo collected four hits, including a double and three singles, while driving in five runs as the Texas Rangers defeated the Oakland Athletics 8-5. The performance helped improve the Rangers’ record to 69-70, while the Athletics fell to 53-86.

Nimmo opened the scoring in the first inning with a double to left field that allowed Corey Seager to cross home plate. He added another run in the third inning on a single to right field, again scoring Seager. The Rangers took control in the fifth when Nimmo singled to right, bringing in Joc Pederson and Seager.

He later scored himself on a groundout by Leody Taverda before singling home Evan Carter in the sixth.

Pitching struggles for Oakland

Luis Medina pitched one inning, allowing one earned run on two hits. Jose Suarez worked 0.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits. Yunior Tur closed out the Athletics' effort with 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out three batters while issuing one walk.

Rangers’ bullpen holds firm

MacKenzie Gore earned the win for Texas, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing one earned run on five hits. He struck out four batters while walking four. Chase Silseth pitched 0.2 innings without allowing a hit or run, striking out two batters.

Adam Macko worked one inning, giving up one earned run on two hits. Trevor Williams pitched 1.1 innings, surrendering three earned runs on four hits. Jacob Latz secured the save with 0.2 perfect innings, striking out two batters without issuing a walk.

The Athletics scored their first run in the third inning when Bobby Butler singled to center, scoring Matt Chapman.
