Princeton, Texas, is included in a Collin County flood watch from 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, through 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, as forecasters track a slow-moving round of showers and storms.
The National Weather Service projects 2 to 4 inches of rain across the watch area, with localized pockets of 4 to 6 inches. Those totals describe the regional risk, not a precise forecast for every street or subdivision in Princeton.
Excess runoff could flood creeks, streams and other low-lying places. Low-water crossings may also be affected. The watch asks residents to prepare and monitor later forecasts; it is not a statement that flash flooding is already occurring across town.
