Baylor Women's Tennis Welcomes New Player for 2026-27 Season

Baylor University has announced the signing of Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth.

Duanrui, who comes from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has achieved 52 singles wins, including significant victories at the M15 Tianjin in 2026 and the W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments in 2025.

In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals on five occasions, with appearances at the W15 Tianjin and three draws at the W15 Luan, as well as a quarterfinal finish at the W15 Maanshan in 2025.

The Baylor women's tennis team finished the 2025 season with a ranking of No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team standings, marking their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th trip to the second round. The season also included four players earning All-Big 12 honors, three victories against ranked teams, and two athletes qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
