Baylor football has made its initial depth chart public as the team prepares for its first game of the 2026 season against Auburn. This announcement provides insight into player positions and roles for fans and supporters in Princeton, Texas, located approximately 90 miles from Waco.

On the offensive side, DJ Lagway is named the starting quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy as backups. Dawson Pendergrass will lead the running back group, supported by Caden Knighten, Michael Turner, Ryelan Morris, and Jacorey Watson. The wide receiver lineup features Louis Brown IV and either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter, while Gavin Freeman is set as the slot receiver.

Matthew Klopfenstein will start at tight end, backed by several players including Tony Livingston and Hawkins Polley.

Defensively, the Bears will have Kyler Jordan or Jordan Mack at defensive end and Devonte Tezino or Kamren Washington at defensive tackle. The linebacker positions include Travion Barnes, Kyland Reed, and either Ryan Davis or Garrick Ponder. In the secondary, Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. are the starting cornerbacks.

For special teams, Rhett Armstrong is designated as the kicker and punter, with Dylan Schaub as the long snapper. Kick return duties will be handled by Caden Knighten, Jayden McGowan, and Ryelan Morris.
