Woody Marks is expected to split backfield responsibilities with David Montgomery for the upcoming season. According to Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, while the distribution may not be exactly equal, both players are likely to see nearly the same amount of work during training camp.

The Texans are anticipated to implement a hot-hand strategy, adjusting their backfield usage weekly based on player performance. In the Texans' recent preseason matchup, Marks took the field for 10 snaps, where he rushed four times for a total of 37 yards and scored a touchdown.

He also made a catch for six yards while playing alongside the first-team offense, as Montgomery was rested for that game.

In terms of fantasy football, Marks is being drafted significantly later than Montgomery, with a gap of nearly five rounds reflecting the differing perceptions of their values. As the season approaches, further clarity on their roles will emerge.
