The Houston Texans will be without Nico Collins against the Cincinnati Bengals after a Grade 1 hamstring injury kept him out of the final two practices of the week. The injury occurred during Wednesday’s practice, and Houston listed Collins as out on its final injury report.

The Texans are expected to spread Collins’ workload among Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel, who could see increased opportunities. Jayden Higgins is also unavailable because of a season-ending ACL injury. C.J. Stroud completed passes to 11 players in Houston’s season-opening 36-31 loss to Buffalo, where Collins recorded seven catches, 75 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Collins has been one of Houston’s leading offensive contributors during the last three seasons. His status for Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts has not been determined. A report from Aaron Wilson said the receiver’s condition is still being assessed. The Texans are seeking their first win of the season, and no additional information about Collins’ return was provided.
