The Houston Texans have completed their 53-man roster, featuring undrafted rookie defensive end Sabastian Harsh. Initially, Harsh faced challenges in securing a position, but his impressive performances during the preseason ultimately earned him a spot.

Harsh shared his feelings of anxiety leading up to the roster announcement. In a recent interview on Texans radio, he recounted, "I talked to my mom, and my dad and I was just kind of waiting for a phone call... Then I seen the roster get released, and I was like, Oh my gosh. Like, that is pretty cool, man."

After missing the first preseason game due to injury, Harsh excelled in his next opportunity against the Carolina Panthers, recording three tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits, and one pass breakup. Head coach DeMeco Ryans noted Harsh's dual contributions in both pass rushing and run defense as key factors in his selection.

Despite this achievement, Harsh aims to continue improving, stating, "Even still now, like, I haven't done it yet. So, still got a lot more work to do." As the season approaches, he will have the chance to learn from experienced edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, with many watching to see how he influences the Texans' defense during the 2026 season.
