Nico Collins’ availability for the Houston Texans’ Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals has not been settled after the wide receiver missed practices Thursday and Friday. He sustained the hamstring injury during Wednesday’s workout, and his official game designation has not been announced.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Texans doctors did not consider the injury serious. Ian Rapoport also said Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show* that the issue did not appear severe, but he described Collins’ absence from two straight practices as a negative indication for his chances of playing. ClutchPoints.com reported that his status remains unresolved.
Collins, 27, began the 2026 season with 10 targets, turning seven of them into 75 receiving yards and a touchdown during Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He had surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the prior three seasons.
If he cannot play against Cincinnati, ClutchPoints.com reported that he could potentially return when Houston faces the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27 in Week 3.
