The Houston Texans placed linebacker Jake Hummel on injured reserve Saturday, following a groin injury he sustained in the team's Week 1 loss to the Bills. The roster designation keeps him out for a minimum of four games, after which he could be evaluated for a return to the active roster.
Hummel has been absent from practice since the injury. Jake Hansen is expected to keep starting at linebacker, with Azeez Al-Shaair and Aiden Fisher also in the group while Hummel is unavailable.
