The Houston Texans are actively seeking to enhance their roster as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. This comes in light of wide receiver Jayden Higgins being placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL. Higgins was anticipated to be a key player as the team's No. 2 receiver, making his absence significant for the Texans.

In response to this setback, the Texans are reportedly considering veteran wide receivers Josh Reynolds and Zay Jones. Reynolds, who previously played for the Detroit Lions, had a productive 2023 season with 40 catches for 608 yards and five touchdowns. Zay Jones, formerly with the Jacksonville Jaguars, recorded 82 receptions for 823 yards and five touchdowns in 2022.

With Higgins out for the season, the team may look to Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Tank Dell to step up alongside star receiver Nico Collins. The interest in Reynolds and Jones indicates the Texans are prioritizing experienced players to strengthen their offensive lineup. The team is currently conducting workouts for free agent receivers, as they navigate the challenges posed by injuries to their roster.
