Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, did not take part in any of the team's three preseason matchups. Alongside him, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Nico Collins were also absent, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the game against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, achieving a career-best 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, which is his highest total since he recorded 808 yards in 2021 with the Cowboys.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season because of a knee injury and Tank Dell beginning the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be primary targets for Stroud in the upcoming season.
