The Houston Texans have made a significant roster change by acquiring wide receiver Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots. Boutte announced the trade on social media prior to any official confirmation from the teams involved. Reports indicate that the Texans sent safety Jaylen Reed and a seventh-round draft pick for 2028 to New England in return for Boutte.
This move follows the injury of Texans' wide receiver Jayden Higgins, who suffered a torn ACL during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders. Higgins was anticipated to play a crucial role alongside standout receiver Nico Collins. As a rookie, he had 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns last season.
Kayshon Boutte, selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, had a successful previous season, recording 33 catches for 551 yards and six touchdowns. The Patriots had an abundance of wide receivers after acquiring A.J. Brown in June and signing Romeo Doubs to a four-year, $68 million contract in March.
