North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks is now part of TCU’s 2027 recruiting class, following his announcement on social media Sept. 17 that he had changed his commitment from Stephen F. Austin.
Brooks said the decision came after talks with his family and personal prayer. He also said joining TCU would allow him to stay close to home. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman had offers mainly from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including SFA and Southern University.
TCU represents his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision program, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley has started the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU’s 2027 class, which sports.yahoo.com ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 12.
