The TCU Horned Frogs will host the Northwestern State Demons on September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. This game, part of TCU's non-conference schedule, includes a $600,000 guarantee for Northwestern State as outlined in a contract accessed via public records.
This matchup will be the second time TCU and Northwestern State meet on the football field. Their first encounter took place in 2001, where the Demons triumphed over the Horned Frogs with a score of 27-24 in overtime.
Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Currently, the Demons are under the leadership of head coach Blaine McCorkle and have begun their season with two losses against Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.
The addition of this game finalizes TCU's non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. TCU will also play Louisiana at home on August 26 and travel to Duke on September 9. The Big 12 Conference has not yet revealed the specific conference opponents for that season, but TCU is anticipated to have five home games and four away games.
Northwestern State is also set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
