As the 2026 season approaches, Baylor University's football team is witnessing an exciting contest for the Star position. This comes after Joe Klanderman was appointed as the new defensive coordinator, bringing in several players from Kansas State to enhance the defense's depth.
Key contenders in this competition include Bo Onu and Daniel Cobbs. Onu, a safety standing at 6 feet and weighing 210 pounds, participated in 11 games last season as a true freshman, tallying nine tackles. Klanderman has noted remarkable progress in Onu's skills and is optimistic about his growth in the upcoming season.
Cobbs, who has previously worked with Klanderman, played 415 total snaps last year and is also in the running for the starting position.
