Dallas has made Curtis Robinson and Justin Barron available from its practice squad for the Week 2 meeting with the Washington Commanders, which is scheduled to be the Cowboys’ home opener. The moves give Dallas additional linebacker and special-teams options while DeMarvion Overshown manages a hamstring injury. The team has not said when he might return and opted against signing a veteran for the game.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday that rookie Jaishawn Barham will use the green-dot helmet while Overshown is out. Robinson and Barron were elevated as the Cowboys prepare their defense for Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ offense.
Overshown was one of three Dallas players fined by the NFL after the Cowboys’ 20-28 Week 1 loss to the New York Giants. His fine was $9,527 for a late hit against quarterback Jaxson Dart. Outside linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku was assessed $11,941 for a fourth-quarter facemask, and running back Javonte Williams received the same amount for unsportsmanlike conduct involving taunting.
Blogging The Boys described improved interior defensive play as an important area for Dallas in Week 2. Von Miller, who spent the 2025 season with Washington, played 11 snaps in his Dallas debut against New York and could receive attention. No additional details about Overshown’s recovery timetable were provided.
