Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte addressed the media following his trade from the New England Patriots to the Houston Texans. This press conference, held a week after the trade, highlighted his initial thoughts on joining the Texans and the motivations behind his departure from New England.

Boutte had sought a trade during the offseason, primarily due to his desire for a more significant role. The signing of Romeo Doubs to a four-year contract worth $68 million and the acquisition of A.J. Brown through a trade involving first- and fifth-round draft picks altered the wide receiver dynamics in New England.

As a result, Boutte found himself positioned as the fourth wide receiver during training camp, behind Doubs, Brown, and DeMario Douglas.

Despite a productive 2024 season, where he recorded 42 receptions for 719 yards and seven touchdowns, Boutte faced the risk of being inactive on game days, as noted by head coach Mike Vrabel after the preseason finale. Boutte responded to these comments by indicating he viewed them as a straightforward evaluation and chose not to let them affect his mindset.

He expressed a commitment to focusing on his career with the Texans moving forward. Details about his future role with the Texans were not disclosed during the press conference.
