Dallas will be without four defensive starters or contributors when the Cowboys face the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil during Week 3. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker, P.J. Locke and DeMarvion Overshown each missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and will not travel to Rio de Janeiro. Dallas and Baltimore are both 1-1.
Jaishawn Barham is expected to take on a larger role at linebacker after filling in for Overshown against Washington. Overshown, who recorded seven tackles before leaving the season opener against the New York Giants with a hamstring strain, will miss his second consecutive game. Shavon Revel Jr., a second-year cornerback, is also expected to see additional snaps because Durant is unavailable.
Durant joined Dallas this offseason after four seasons with the Rams and started the Cowboys’ first two games. He played 87 defensive snaps before injuring his hamstring against Washington and had been expected to miss multiple weeks. Hooker fractured his forearm in the opener after 12 defensive snaps, while Locke took 31 snaps against Washington before tearing the plantar fascia in his foot.
