Nico Collins may be available for Houston’s Week 4 visit to Dallas, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported. The Texans receiver is sidelined for Week 3 with a hamstring injury, but Schefter described his prospects for the Cowboys game as a “decent chance.”
Collins has appeared in one game this season, Houston’s Week 1 loss to Buffalo. He finished that outing with seven receptions, 75 yards and a touchdown. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud has taken the Texans to the playoffs, and the team reached the postseason last year before falling to the New England Patriots.
Dallas also faces uncertainty among its defensive backs. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke will not all be available for the Cowboys’ Week 3 game against Baltimore in Brazil, and their status for the Texans matchup remains undecided. DaRon Bland and Shavon Revel are currently playing cornerback for Dallas, while Caleb Downs has made an impact in the secondary.
The Cowboys rank 17th in pass defense entering Week 3, giving up 218 yards per game. The source reported that the unit continues to have areas to address. The report also mentioned a possible Dallas trade for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., but said no deal had been completed. No additional Week 4 injury information was provided.
