The Philadelphia Eagles have signed running back Jaydon Blue to their practice squad following his release from the Dallas Cowboys. Blue, a former fifth-round selection from the University of Texas, struggled with maturity issues that limited his chances during his rookie year. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that Blue was unlikely to return to the team, paving the way for his move to Philadelphia.

In a corresponding roster change, the Cowboys have added Emari Demercado, who previously played for the Arizona Cardinals. Demercado, who is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds, is expected to enhance the running back group, having averaged 6.5 yards per carry in his time with Arizona. His performance drew the attention of Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams, who has coached him before.

The current Cowboys running back lineup features Malik Davis as the primary backup, along with Hunter Luepke serving as a fullback. Israel Abanikanda has been brought back to the practice squad. Meanwhile, the status of second-year player Phil Mafah is unclear. The Cowboys will be monitoring Blue's performance with the Eagles, hoping he does not thrive in a competing team's colors.
