Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently considered day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as stated by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.

Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their first game of the season. Despite the setback, he played through the entire match and effectively led the offense, though his mobility was restricted. In his debut, he completed 27 passes out of 54 attempts, totaling 333 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Lagway was instrumental in a late-game comeback, overcoming a 17-10 deficit. He made a crucial 28-yard pass to Gavin Freeman on a pivotal fourth-and-10 play, and then connected with Jadon Porter for a 27-yard gain, bringing the Bears to the Auburn 5-yard line. He concluded the series with a touchdown pass to Freeman from 5 yards out, with only 9 seconds left in the game.

Updates regarding Lagway's recovery are anticipated after practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the team continues to assess his condition.
