Acy is the son of former Baylor forward Quincy Acy, who played for the Bears from 2008 through 2012. Quincy Acy earned All-Big 12 Defensive Team recognition for the 2011-12 season and was known for scoring, rebounding and blocking shots around the basket.
The younger Acy is described as having the size to help on both ends of the court. His abilities include defending the rim, disrupting passing lanes, and producing blocked shots and deflections. A Baylor commitment could give coach Scott Drew the chance to coach a second generation of the family.
Drew coached Quincy Acy throughout his four seasons at Baylor after becoming the program’s head coach in 2003. Whether that connection affects Bear Acy’s decision remains unclear.
