Princeton voters have until Monday, Oct. 5, to register for the Nov. 3 election, according to the city’s election calendar. Early voting runs Oct. 19–30.

School-board and city-council candidates discussed education and government transparency at a Sept. 26 forum at the Princeton ISD Administration Office, the Princeton Herald reported Oct. 1.

Three school-board candidates, Cyndi Darland, Starla Sharpe and Charlotte Wilson, took part. All three opposed school vouchers, according to the Herald. Their other priorities included reading, special education and students’ access to programs preparing them for college or work.

Council Place 6 candidates Ken Seligman and Sumbel “Susan” Zeb also answered questions. Both sought clearer explanations of water and wastewater billing. Seligman favored earlier resident involvement in budget planning; Zeb called for an independent audit and easier access to financial information.

The League of Women Voters of Collin County conducted the forum, hosted by the Princeton-Lowry Crossing Chamber of Commerce.
