Construction has officially commenced on the Rosamond Town Center in Anna, Texas, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on June 30. The event was attended by representatives from Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, Principal Asset Management®, Citizens Bank, and local officials.

Rosamond Town Center will complement the existing Rosamond Crossing, forming part of a larger 750,000-square-foot retail complex in Collin County. The development is financed through a mix of developer equity, funding from Principal Asset Management®, and a construction loan from Citizens Bank.

Located at the southeast corner of Rosamond Parkway and Highway 75, the open-air center will span 355,826 square feet. It is set to feature major retailers including Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx, along with various outparcels and specialty shops.

Kenton McKeehan, President and Chief Investment Officer of Big V Property Group, expressed pride in contributing to the growth of Anna, stating that the project extends the Metroplex by nine miles. Anna is projected to experience population growth at a rate 13 times faster than the national average over the next decade, positioning it as a key area between McKinney and Sherman.

Danielle Kaufman from The Seitz Group acknowledged the collaborative effort with the City of Anna, emphasizing that successful developments rely on strong partnerships. Anna Mayor Pete Cain highlighted the significance of the project, noting its potential to enhance the city’s retail landscape and create approximately 750 jobs.

Texas Representative Keresa Richardson remarked on the importance of the development, calling it a celebration of growth in Texas as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. The development team received a Congressional Commendation from U.S. Rep. Keith Self, recognizing the collaboration between public and private sectors in driving progress in the rapidly growing community.

Big V Property Group manages several properties across Texas, including notable shopping centers in cities such as San Antonio, Euless, Humble, Cypress, and Austin. The company is known for its significant presence in the retail real estate market in the state.

Further details about the project and its timeline were not provided.
