McKinney is set to welcome LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, which will establish a new facility dedicated to artificial intelligence power and infrastructure. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced this significant project, which involves an investment of nearly $919 million and is expected to generate over 600 jobs throughout its duration.

The initial phase of the project includes a capital investment of $307 million and aims to create approximately 500 jobs. The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet, functioning as LITEON's North American base for advanced manufacturing. This location will focus on designing and producing essential power systems for AI data centers.

The state has supported this initiative with a grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund amounting to $3.5 million and an additional $100,000 bonus aimed at creating jobs for veterans.

Founded in 1975, LITEON has a history of innovation in the electronics sector, particularly in LED technology and power management modules. The company is adapting to the growing demand for AI by focusing on high-end server power supplies and battery backup units critical for data centers.

The new facility will be strategically located in North Texas, a region leading the nation in data center development, allowing for local production of the necessary power systems. This investment marks one of the largest corporate commitments in McKinney's history, enhancing the local economy and job market.

McKinney is about 7 miles west of Princeton.
