Princeton ISD's trustees will be asked Monday, Oct. 19, to take up the district's 2026 tax roll, which the Collin County tax office says carries a total levy of about $70.6 million.
The roll summary, dated Oct. 1 and posted with the agenda Tuesday, lists 31,533 accounts with a total market value of about $9.41 billion. After roughly $2.76 billion in exemptions and about $656 million in agricultural deferrals, the taxable value is about $5.99 billion, taxed at the district's rate of $1.2011 per $100 of value.
Homestead exemptions account for the largest share of the exemptions, about $1.64 billion across 12,376 accounts. The summary also lists 2,146 over-65 exemptions worth about $100 million and 796 disabled veteran exemptions worth about $71 million. It puts the levy lost on accounts with frozen school taxes at about $1.29 million.
In a cover letter to Superintendent Donald McIntyre, Collin County Tax Assessor-Collector Scott Grigg wrote that submitting the roll to the board makes it the district's 2026 tax roll, calling the board's approval a formality in the state tax code that his office still wants completed.
Two new elementary schools
A construction update posted with the agenda tracks the district's two elementary schools under construction. The slides list Abbott Elementary, at 7950 County Road 831, at $28.0 million of a $40.4 million guaranteed maximum price, marked 69%, and Talley Elementary, at 607 Sandhill Crane Lane, at $28.1 million of $41.0 million, marked 68%.
At Abbott, crews are finishing drywall, painting the administration area and laying kitchen tile, with mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in nearly done. At Talley, the slides report final paving prep, the start of exterior canopy work, kitchen tile and interior masonry, and the first ceiling grid.
