Mariners Complete Late Rally

The Seattle Mariners defeated the Houston Astros 6-5 on Thursday, September 24, at T-Mobile Park. The final score of 6-5 reflects a dramatic conclusion where Seattle capitalized on a surge of runs in the top of the 10th inning. Attendance at the venue reached 24,802 fans. Following the result, the Mariners improved to a 74-84 record, while the Astros fell to 78-80.

Early Astros Lead

Houston established an early cushion in the bottom of the third inning. Carlos Altuve singled to left field to score Jared Allen, bringing the score to 1-0. Deciding Inning

The game remained tied until the top of the 10th inning, where Seattle scored five runs to secure the win. Diaz tripled to right field, allowing Alvarez to score and giving Seattle a 5-4 lead. Rodríguez walked, and Crawford scored to make it 5-5. Naylor singled to center field, scoring Arozarena for the winning run and setting the final score at 6-5. The remaining runners were left on base as the game concluded.

Pitching Performance

Cooper Criswell earned the win for Seattle, pitching one inning of scoreless relief with one hit and one strikeout. George Kirby started for the Mariners, pitching five innings while allowing six hits and four earned runs, striking out five batters. For Houston, Ethan Pecko took the loss. He pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs while walking two batters and striking out two. Josh Hader finished the game for the Astros, pitching one and one-third innings and allowing two hits and one earned run.
