The White Sox broke open a tight contest in the fifth inning, capitalizing on early opportunities against Houston starter Ronel Blanco. After Benintendi singled to right field and drove in Antonio Antonacci for a 1-0 lead, Colson Montgomery doubled to right, scoring both Benintendi and Vargas to extend the advantage to 3-0.
