Scoring Breakdown
Houston took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Walker hit a 425-foot home run to left field. The Astros extended their advantage in the sixth inning with two more runs. Stefanic singled to center, allowing McNeil and Gelof to score, making it 3-1.
Heim followed with a single to left, scoring Clarke for a 3-2 lead. However, the Athletics responded immediately. Bolte tripled to center, bringing in White and Heim to make the score 3-5.
Butler then grounded into a fielder's choice to first, allowing Bolte to score and giving Sacramento a 6-3 lead. On the losing side, Hunter Brown took the loss after pitching 5.1 innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, four walks, and striking out four. Bennett Sousa was charged with the loss despite pitching no innings, as he allowed three hits and three earned runs. The final records stand at 64-96 for the Athletics and 79-81 for the Astros.
