Astros Power Offense Dominates

The Houston Astros unleashed a powerful offensive display to defeat the Texas Rangers 9-3 at Globe Life Field on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The victory improved Houston’s record to 47-50, while the Rangers fell to 48-47.

Houston’s Alvarez set the tone early in the first inning with a 425-foot home run to center field that drove in Peña, giving the Astros a 2-0 lead. The momentum continued in the third inning when Wade Jr. connected for a 400-foot shot to right field. The blast was a four-run hammer that also scored Alvarez, Paredes, and Altuve, extending Houston’s advantage to 6-0.

Late Inning Scoring and Pitching Decisions

Vázquez added to the Astros’ lead in the fourth inning with a 392-foot home run to left center, making the score 7-0. The Rangers responded later in the same frame when Duran hit a 378-foot home run to right center, bringing the score to 7-1.

Peter Lambert earned the win for Houston, pitching six innings and allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters. Enyel De Los Santos contributed one scoreless inning with a strikeout, and AJ Blubaugh pitched two innings, giving up two earned runs.

For Texas, Kumar Rocker took the loss after pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed eight hits and seven earned runs, striking out six batters. Gavin Collyer pitched 1.1 innings without allowing a hit or run, while Robby Ahlstrom and Chris Martin each pitched one inning, with Martin surrendering two earned runs.

Final Scoring Plays

The game’s scoring continued in the ninth inning. Paredes scored on a balk, advancing Walker to third, though the score remained 8-1 after two balk-related plays. Smith then hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Walker to make it 9-1. Duran completed the scoring for Texas with a 372-foot home run to left field, bringing Cauley home for the final 9-3 tally.

A total of 37,318 fans attended the game. The Astros’ five home runs highlighted an efficient offensive performance, while the Rangers struggled to contain Houston’s power hitting throughout the contest.
