Scott Blewett pitched two-thirds of an inning without allowing an earned run, while Drew Rom and Yunior Tur struggled, combining to allow six earned runs over two innings.

With this defeat, the Athletics’ record dropped to 64-97. The Houston Astros improved their record to 80-81.
