Princeton, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.6720 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 28, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.7010 yesterday. That is up from $3.5830 a week ago but higher than $3.1780 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.6720, while the national average is $4.0990. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying equal to the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 49 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.9210, drivers are paying about 75 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.0930 per gallon, AAA reported.
