Princeton, Texas — FC Dallas has acquired goalkeeper Daniel from the San Jose Earthquakes, giving the club an additional experienced option for the second half of the MLS season.

San Jose signed goalkeeper Angus Gunn before completing Daniel’s move to Dallas. The transaction is a roster development, not a game recap.

FC Dallas chief soccer officer André Zanotta said Daniel’s MLS experience will add competition in the goalkeeper group. Michael Collodi had started 13 matches this season and recorded three shutouts.

MLS reported that Daniel has 15 clean sheets in 86 all-competitions appearances since becoming San Jose’s first-choice keeper in 2023. The 32-year-old holds a U.S. green card, so Dallas does not use an international roster position on him.

Toyota Stadium in Frisco is about 30 miles west of Princeton, connecting the club to the broader Collin County sports market.

The trade can bring San Jose as much as $1 million in General Allocation Money: $700,000 is guaranteed and another $300,000 is tied to conditions, MLS and Field Level Media reported.
