Jack in the Box Inc. announced on Wednesday that its board of directors has selected Taylor Montgomery to serve as president. The appointment takes effect on September 14, 2026, and is part of the company’s previously disclosed succession plan.

In his new role, Montgomery will oversee brand strategy with a focus on driving sales growth and improving profitability for franchisees. He is expected to assume the position of chief executive officer within the next 12 months. Upon becoming CEO, he will also join the company’s board of directors.

During the transition period, Montgomery will collaborate with Executive Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer Mark King. King will continue to serve as chairman after the leadership change is complete.

Montgomery joins Jack in the Box from Taco Bell, where he most recently held the title of Global Chief Brand Officer. He was part of Yum! Brands, overseeing systemwide sales exceeding $18 billion across more than 9,000 locations.

During his time at Taco Bell, the brand reported a 7 percent increase in sales, 3 percent restaurant growth, and an 8 percent rise in profits last year.

Before joining Yum! Brands, Montgomery spent over a decade in leadership roles focused on brand marketing and innovation within the same corporate family. Prior to his tenure at Yum!, he worked for more than five years at Procter & Gamble in various brand strategy positions.

Jack in the Box currently operates and franchises approximately 2,115 restaurants across 25 states, as well as in Mexico and Guam.

Jack in the Box employs about 25 people in Princeton, according to local government records.
