Jack in the Box has introduced a new menu concept called the Cosmic Cheeseburger platform, featuring sandwiches with a distinct circular, saucer-like shape. The items are prepared as stuffed, pressed sandwiches with sealed edges, bearing a Jack Box imprint on the surface. The company describes the texture as having a crispy exterior while the interior remains soft, hot, and melty.

The preparation method utilizes equipment originally designed for making ice cream sandwiches. The company’s team explored adapting this machinery for savory menu items. During the development phase, early concepts included a pepperoni-and-cheese pizza-inspired version and a barbecue mac-and-cheese variation.

The new offerings are part of the chain’s first “Hype Drop,” a program intended to deliver bold, limited-time menu items to customers. Three specific varieties are currently available. The Loaded Breakfast Cosmic Jack contains freshly cracked eggs, sausage, hash browns, American cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, and bacon mayo inside a buttery bakery bun.

The Bacon Ultimate Cosmic Cheeseburger features seasoned beef, hickory-smoked bacon, American cheese, sliced onions, pickles, and Smashed Jack sauce in a similar buttery bakery bun. The Philly Chili Cosmic Jack includes shaved Philly steak, chili crisp, grilled peppers and onions, Swiss-style cheese, and mayonnaise sealed within a buttery Hawaiian bun.

These items are exclusively available at the Jack in the Box restaurant located at 1220 Centinela Ave. in Inglewood. The offer runs through September 2 or until supplies are depleted. The company has not announced whether the Cosmic Cheeseburger platform will expand to additional locations following this limited test run.

Jack in the Box employs about 25 people in Princeton, according to local government records.
