The highly anticipated series "Dutton Ranch," a sequel to "Yellowstone," was filmed throughout North Texas, including Ferris, which is about 46 miles south of Princeton. The production took place from August 2025 to March 2026, with filming locations spanning Dallas and several small towns that served as the backdrop for the fictional town of Rio Paloma.

Key filming sites included Ferris, Boyd, Cleburne, Grandview, Weatherford, Rio Vista, Mineral Wells, and Fort Worth. The landscapes depicted in the show primarily feature the grasslands and mesquite of Parker, Wise, and Johnson counties, contrasting with the Rio Grande Valley setting described in the series.

"Dutton Ranch" premiered on May 15, 2026, with its first two episodes, and continued weekly for a total of nine episodes, concluding on July 3. The show achieved significant viewership, attracting 12.9 million global viewers in its opening week, marking it as the largest original series launch on Paramount+.

The cast includes Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, among others, with Chad Feehan as the creator and showrunner.

The production benefitted from Texas's Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which supports film and television projects financially, benefiting local businesses. Paramount+ has confirmed a second season for "Dutton Ranch," though a premiere date is yet to be announced.
