Princeton's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will talk about senior services, a city-owned green space in the Whitewing area and the status of the parks bond when it meets Thursday, Oct. 8.
The board had been scheduled to meet Tuesday, Oct. 6, but Parks and Recreation Director Chase Bryant canceled that session because it conflicts with National Night Out. Everything on the original agenda moved to a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers at the Princeton Municipal Center, 2000 E. Princeton Drive.
On the agenda
The posted agenda lists these items for update and discussion:
- Parks bond: an update on the parks bond.
- Senior center: a senior center and senior programming in PARC.
- Whitewing: city-owned green space in Whitewing.
- Wayfinding: a partnership with the Community Development Corporation on a citywide wayfinding project, meaning signs that direct people to parks, facilities and destinations.
- Youth sports: surveys of families after each youth sports season.
- Meeting schedule: a proposal to move the board's regular meetings to the first Wednesday of each month starting in January.
The board is advisory, so it makes recommendations rather than final decisions. Residents can address the board on topics not otherwise scheduled for a hearing, for up to five minutes, by filling out an appearance card before the meeting starts.
