Collin College's Farmersville Campus has three free public events on its calendar over the next few weeks, starting with a building dedication on Tuesday afternoon.

A hall named for a founding trustee, Tuesday

The college will hold a ceremonial naming of Dr. J. Robert Collins Hall from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, The Farmersville Times reported. Bob Collins was one of the trustees who helped found Collin College and now holds the title of trustee emeritus. The college credits his leadership and long support with shaping the institution from its first years.

The public is welcome, and the college is asking people who plan to come to RSVP.

Blooming Harvest, Wednesday

The next morning, the campus hosts Blooming Harvest, an event it holds every other year, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14. Admission is free. The college lists food trucks, bounce houses, live music, a petting zoo, a corn maze and face painting among the activities.

This is the third Blooming Harvest since the campus opened in 2021. "Blooming Harvest gives us the chance to celebrate and connect with our students, community partners, friends, and colleagues at a fun fall event," said Greg Forge, the campus's executive dean.

If the weather does not cooperate, the college will move the event to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 28

Later in the month, families can collect candy among decorated cars at the campus Trunk-or-Treat, set for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the campus parking lot. That event is also free. Questions go to Courtney Kelley at crkelley@collin.edu.

All three events are at the Farmersville Campus, 501 S. Collin Parkway in Farmersville. General campus questions can go to farmersvillecampus@collin.edu.
